The Zybo Z7 is a ready-to-use embedded software and digital circuit development board built around the Xilinx Zynq-7000 family. The Zynq-7000 tightly integrates a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor with Xilinx 7-series Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) logic.

A rich set of multimedia and connectivity peripherals make the Zybo Z7 a formidable single-board computer. A MIPI CSI-2 compatible Pcam connector, HDMI input, HDMI output, and high DDR3L bandwidth establish the Zybo Z7 as an affordable, yet capable, solution for high-end embedded vision applications. Attaching additional hardware is made easy by the Zybo Z7's Pmod connectors, allowing access to Digilent's catalog of over 70 Pmod peripheral boards, including motor controllers, sensors, displays, and more.

The Zybo Z7 is supported by Xilinx's Vivado Design Suite, including the free WebPACK version. You can also interact with the processing system (PS) with Xilinx's Vitis Unified Software Platform and PetaLinux Tools.

Guides and demos are available to help you get started quickly with the Zybo Z7. These can be found through the Support Materials tab.

Note for repeat customers: There has been a change to this product. More information can be found in the RTL8211E and W25Q128JV PCN documents, available through the Support tab.

Samples aren't updated and often don't even build. Support is virtually non-existent.

    Nice board

Posted by Kay on 3rd Apr 2021

Works fine so far with the latest Vivado 2020.2 and Vitis. One thing that should be improved is the packaging, the thin paper box is very cheap and I already tore it by just opening it the first time. A thicker cardboard or even better a plastic box should be standard for these expensive delicate boards. Also, a separate big GND pin would be nice to safely hook up a scope's ground lead clips to.

    Solid Board

Posted by Digilent Customer on 22nd Oct 2020

A lot smaller than I expected, but impressed by all the functionality! Unfortunately both Zynq parts (for the -010 and the -020) you can get dont feature any of the GTP/X transceivers. Would've been nice to see those but I imagine it'd kick up the price point a lot. Also would be nice to have some dedicated PL DDR. This is okay though since PL masters can access the builtin PS DDR controller over the AXI ports. It'll just consume more throughput there.
