Designed and manufactured by our partner, Trenz Electronic, the TE0802 is a development board integrating a Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC device, which brings together programmable logic with ARM Cortex-R and ARM Cortex-A53 processors.

The Trenz TE0802 features the XCZU2CG, which is the introductory device to the Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC family. That makes the Trenz TE0802 an excellent choice for getting started with Zynq UltraScale+. Package migration within the Zynq UltraScale+ portfolio provides future proofing for bringing that design to other devices, such as the Genesys ZU.

The board features multiple connectivity interfaces, including DisplayPort, VGA, USB 3.0, and Gigabit Ethernet RJ45. Embedded developers and users familiar with Arm Cortex-R and Arm Cortex-A53 processors can get started in applications such as industrial motor control, sensor fusion, IoT, Real-time I/O, and medical devices. The versatile onboard I/O, including push buttons, slide switches, a seven-segment LED display, and 12-pin Pmod connectors, provide everything you need in one convenient package.

The XCZU2CG MPSoC is supported by Vivado Design Suite, including the free WebPACK edition, so designs can be completed at no extra cost.

To create and modify designs for your TE0802, you can use Xilinx's Vivado Design Suite. Vivado is a software designed for the synthesis and analysis of HDL designs. The TE0802 is supported by the free WebPACK edition of the Vivado Design Suite.

You can use Xilinx's PetaLinux Tools to customize, build, and deploy Embedded Linux solutions on the Zynq UltraScale+. While the Vitis Unified Software Platform enables the development of embedded software and accelerated applications on heterogeneous Xilinx platforms, such as the Zynq UltraScale+.

    This board is exciting in terms of capabilities with a Zynq Ultrascale processor at a good price point. The out of the box experience is poor - you will need to dig through the documentation for the correct power adapter. The getting started documentation points you to Xilinx resources with no hands-on getting started materials. I'm wading Zybo and Zedboard tutorials to try to figure out how to get started whereas I was hoping to use Trenz documentation for that purpose. This board would be valuable to someone who knew the basics of Vivaldo, Verilog, and SoC design but was new to Zynq Ultrascale. I'll likely be shelving this for another eval board to learn Xilinx Vivaldo, Vitis, and FPGA design.
